Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions:

Q: How long does it take for me to get a bronze plaque from International Bronze?

A:  Our standard production time is about 3 ½ to 4 weeks plus time for shipping from our plant in FL via UPS ground.

Q: Can I get my plaque sooner?

A:  There are extra-cost options for expedited production times as well as upgraded shipping methods which can get your plaque to you quicker than ground shipping.

In addition, we offer no-cost or low-cost alternatives for use at a dedication or memorial service.

We will work with you to come up with a solution for your specific need – be sure to let us know as early in the ordering process as possible what your time frame is.

Q: How big does my plaque need to be to fit my lettering?

A:  This is not always an easy question to answer – because of the sand casting process we use, we require extra space between letters and more space between lines than you would generally use when working in word processing software.

In addition, we have a minimum letter size we can cast (usually, a ¼” letter is as small as we can effectively cast).

Part of our free design service is that we will be happy to recommend a size for your bronze plaque – simply send us the lettering you want on your plaque – and we’ll tell you what size plaque you need.

Q: How do I order?

A:  Click on the “How to order” tab at the top of each page on our website – generally, we prefer to discuss your plaque order with you over the phone in order to ensure that all the details have been reviewed – particularly, the mounting hardware we provide with your plaque.

Artwork Questions:

Q: Can you use my logo or custom artwork?

A:  Generally speaking, we can use your logo or custom typeface on a cast bronze plaque – there are some technical restrictions on sizes and your logo may need to be adapted to work on a cast plaque – we will be happy to review any artwork for usability. We include any changes needed to make your logo work on a cast bronze plaque in the price of the plaque – there will no surprises or extra artwork charges added on.

Q: What fonts or letter styles are available?

A:  The casting process requires vector artwork which is not usually available to our customers – fonts used by Microsoft Word and various email programs, for example, are not vector art. While we often have an equivalent font in our library, they are not always identical. If you have something specific you want to use – let us know and we’ll be happy to check it out for you.

Q: What kind of special artwork can I choose from on my plaque?

A:  We have literally tens of thousands of types of artwork that we’ve adapted to be used on a bronze plaque - this artwork is always included in our price. If you have anything in mind – flower designs, organization logos, hobbies or interests, virtually, anything – just let us know with your initial design request. We’ll try to find something which will work with your plaque.

Installation Questions:

Q: What kind of mounting hardware is provided?

A:  Our standard plaque installation hardware is shown on the website – just click on the Bronze Plaque Information tab. We will be happy discuss specific requirements with you when you’re ready to place your order.

Q: What options do you have for displaying bronze plaques?

A:  We don’t provide stones, pedestals or concrete pads for our plaques - these are usually easier (and much less expensive) to obtain locally. We offer an optional freestanding garden stake mount for our smaller plaques to be displayed in a garden-setting and can provide an optional mounting bracket for larger plaques that installs onto a standard post. We do not provide the posts themselves – it is more cost effective to obtain the posts locally.

Payment Questions:

Q: How do I pay for my bronze plaque?

A:  Our terms are payment with order – we accept credit cards over the phone (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express) or you can send a check for payment.

Purchase orders are accepted only from official government agencies and must be received by mail, fax or email.
